The Plaza de la Música is on the western side (the one looking away from the city) of the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus. The main building—which is home to the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria and the music academy—closes the square on the south side and protects it from the intense road traffic. The pedestrian plaza covers a large car park which is lit and ventilated by means of the large wells that open up in it.
