“Christened in tribute to the most famous dress design—more accurately, peplos design—by Mariano Fortuny Madrazo, one of my favourite artists. Fortuny designed a silk lamp similar in shape to this, in which he tried to take advantage of the sfumato effect possible with Murano glass. On the part that protects the bulb the glass is more diffusive, less transparent.”
