From its original and ancient utilitarian function, the candelabrum has now taken on a more symbolical, evocative role. In this design, OTB employed one of the master Dalí's resources: a softened vision of a rigid object. He melted candle wax and then solidified it, converting it into bronze.

When the candle is burning and sheds its wax tears, they blend with the solid ones of the candelabra itself, in a recurrent surrealistic play. Despite the Dalian influence, the final result looks rather like a piece by Giacometti, who probably did work with wax when making his sculptures.
