Proposal for Telefónica

(Prototype)

“A competition by invitation of the Telefónica company in which Ramón Benedito (who had great experience in the design of electrical goods) and I took the reasonable decision to collaborate instead of competing. Telefónica wanted a land-line telephone for home use, but with some of the features of any cell phone at the time.

One of our intentions was to substitute the forever tangled spiral cable with one that wound back into the base like the starter on an outboard motor. I think Ramón Benedito’s passion for modern, aerodynamic shapes shines through in the final design. It was made by Alberto Corazón, but we didn’t win the competition and it was never produced.”
