"The manufacturer who commissioned me was very skilled in the technique of aluminium founding and subsequently treating the product with an interesting range of tints and patinas.

    Smooth, brilliant surfaces are the most difficult to obtain, and so their catalogue offers a large range of textures and reliefs, but always imitating other materials: bamboo, pith, wicker, cast iron, etc.

    Our challenge consisted of making the most of the manufacturer’s tradition and knowledge, respecting their technology and designing an object which, although highly textured, would not imitate any other material and could be ornamented with complete freedom: a sculpture to sit on.

    A chair, a light armchair that is reminiscent of a grouse. Cast aluminium as a precious metal, which reproduces all the subtleties, details and ornaments we include in the mould. A special paint, with patina applied by hand, heightens the reliefs and offers a satin finish, avoiding the aggressive highlights of direct sunlight, revealing, nonetheless, the beautiful basic material.

    A range of finishes for the seat and the backrest, for different purposes: all cast metal, for exteriors; exposed or upholstered wood, for interiors."
