This was a commission from the German company Ritzenhoff for decoration of a beer glass. The information sent to the designers include a history of beer pointing out the Egyptian origins of the drink and that it was Cleopatra who established the first known tax on alcohol, to overcome her economic difficulties.

    OTB decided to incorporate this into the design motif: on one side two Ptolemaic pharaohs toast the new tax; on the other side we see their glasses clinking. The motif reflects OTB's abhorrence of a vacuum - his horror vacui - and his liking for a motif with a story, even in the case of a simple beer glass.
