Richard Levene and
Fernando Márquez Cecilia
This issue, both in form and content, is extraordinary: given its monographic character and the breadth required by the subject, El Croquis has separated one of its regular sections to create a special supplement: El Croquis pfc —dedicated entirely to the publication of final degree projects. The new, larger format aims to provide a better reading experience, especially regarding the construction details of the projects.
The monograph selected for this edition presents the latest works, projects, and designs by the Catalan architects Lluís Clotet, Oscar Tusquets, Cristián Cirici, and Pep Bonet, who have formed the Studio PER since 1964. They are among the most interesting and innovative professional teams currently active in Spain.
The group presents a cohesive identity, unaffected by the division into the Clotet-Tusquets and Cirici-Bonet duos, or by the individual initiatives of each member. Their work spans a broad spectrum of professional activity: built projects, architectural design, interior design, and industrial design. A hallmark of their practice is the diversity of themes and scales of intervention, ranging from single-family housing, public works, and the restoration of historic buildings to bathroom-dressing room layouts and the design of door handles.
