The Cuadernos Ínfimos were the first publications of Tusquets Editores. Given the strict economic limitations at the beginning, we decided to start with very small and inexpensive books, aptly called Cuadernos Ínfimos. The subjects were very diverse, and many of the authors were young friends. Together with Lluís, we decided to define the covers of the collection not through a particular type of illustration or typography, but through their material: silver card stock.

Limited by modest means and little graphic knowledge, yet driven by a certain youthful audacity, we took several risks: titles that had to be read in a mirror, movable covers, or the die-cut cover of Groucho and I where “Groucho” could be seen on the cover and the “author” on the title page. I don’t think we could do anything better today.
